After locating the previous video that I shared here, on YouTube.com “Skinny Legs and All” by Joe Tex I couldn’t help but notice some of the other songs that Joe Tex put out back in the 60′s and early 70′s. Anyone remember his hit song “I Gotcha” that I embedded here today. Or “I Ain’t Gonna Bump No More With No Big Fat Woman”? Man these songs were/are so totally unique and unusual, which I guess was/is a good thing. One good way to be noticed and to “get in” the hard-core music industry is by being unusual and unique, it certainly worked for Joe Tex back over the course of his career that spanned over two decades, back when Soul Train was popular and Motown was at it’s best. Of course that is just my opinion, for what it’s worth.
Each year we get to see on numerous television shows during the holiday season, all the newly released and exciting toys that are expected to be the big top sellers for the up and coming Holiday shopping season.
Amazing how every year Elmo seems to be a hit, time after time, it never fails to see him upgraded somehow to keep him on top. Elmo is cool, he was my favorite of the Sesame Street characters, back in my day and the Cookie Monster was always good for a laugh!
Found out today where to find pandora charms online that are so popular with several people who I know that I could be buying some for as Christmas gifts. Yes I said the dreaded C word, Christmas! I can’t believe that the stores are putting out their Christmas stuff and that the TV is spewing out commercials about Christmas as well. I could have sworn it was still officially summer, or did I miss something?
It always worries me when I think that the flat screen TV mounts aren’t installed properly and could come tumbling down at any time. Besides wrecking the TV, it could damage other things that would be in the path of its falling down, even hurting some one if they were in the way as well. Even though I am pretty handy with tools and can do a lot of odd jobs around the place, I would never attempt to install something like that myself.
Today Paul McCartney turned 70 years old and only a few months ago the only other surviving Beatle, Ringo Starr celebrated his 72nd birthday. Crazy isn’t it, who would have ever thought considered any of those guys in their 70′s. I think I’ll see if I can find the old Beatle movie “A Hard Day’s Night” on Netflex, or even the other hit movie back then “Help” both would be good give another watching soon.
