Today was a lesson about all the different types of lifts that are on today’s market, with a good amount of these lifts on the Internet for today’s online shoppers to look at. First let me explain that my brother-in-law is expecting his tax refund in the next couple of weeks. I have been helping them (my kid sis and her hubby) will the slow painful process of building a shop in their backyard that he can use to fix vehicles to help bring in some extra money. It has been an interesting experience from day one, I have learned so much this past year and it feels real good to drive up to their place and see that all that time and hard work actually paid off. It’s a good thing that we all get along so well together. There have been plenty of disagreements between us, but we have managed to work them all out and still give each other a hug at the end of the day.
High Lift Service / Parking Lift with Muscle Cars
Throughout all this time he has been telling me that he can’t wait to get an auto lift so that he can do so much more with that type of advantage. Of course he has promised to do a good amount of work on my car for all of my time and effort in getting him up and almost running. Yesterday I was over there and he was showing me all of the types of lifts and he keep referring to the one that he wanted as a parking lift, so I got a bit confused hence today’s lesson was that there is a difference between an auto lift and a parking lift. Now I understand that this much talked about parking lift is a car storage lift and well as a service lift which makes sense to me if you can kill two birds with one stone. That’s not so complicated to understand.
The song “Who Stole The Cookies From The Cookie Jar” came into my head this morning for some reason, one of those songs that gets in there and won’t leave for hours. I can’t tell you how many times we all sang this wonderfully entertaining song that get’s even the shyest people to participate and have some fun with. It was still going on these evening while I was catching up on my PC, so I decided to see if I could find a video of the song on YouTube and I managed to find this hilarious one that I wanted to share.
I don’t think that any of us ever thought that we would see this song on a computer one day like this. I had to send my brothers and sisters the link to this hilarious version of one of our favorite silly songs of days gone by. Another silly song we used to sing was “Beans In Our Ears” I’m almost afraid to look that one up to see what they have done with that one. But I guess when that song gets stuck in my head I will break down and look it up. In the mean time I’ll keep wondering just who stole the cookies from the cookie jar.
As most of you know I have a sister that is struggling, big time since her husband was involved in an automobile accident over 5 years ago. He has not been able to work since then and is pain the majority of the time, meanwhile the lawyers are dragging their feet, for some reason and they are going deeper and deeper into debt. My sister is working 2 jobs just trying to keep the mortgage paid, gas in the car and all the money for all the doctor appointments and medications that he is having to take. Their co pay is ridiculous!
My sister has been contemplating filing for bankruptcy, but her hubby isn’t all that thrilled with the idea. There are so many stories out there about bankruptcy that has confessed people about all the various types of bankruptcy and how it affects you at that time and in the long run. So I have done a bit of research on the subject and just sent her the link to the website to raleigh creditor rights bankruptcy lawyers that I think would be a good way to start learning about what bankruptcy is all about and what they can do down there in raleigh for people and businesses during their time of financial troubles.
I think that it would be a great way for them to go. But I certainly don’t want to poke my nose into where it doesn’t belong, but my sis knows that I’ve got her back and will do anything that I can for her and her family, always and forever.
Just the thought of someone breaking into my sister’s apartment just freaks me out. She doesn’t live in the best of neighborhoods and with the economy still in such turmoil there are way to many home break ins going on so I am really on her case about checking into a decent security monitoring system to have installed for her safety as well as my peace of mind.
The fact that her last room-mate moved out last month leaving my kid sister all on her own to foot the bills and all alone 24/7 makes this even a more important task. I wish that she didn’t live so far away. I know that she is an adult now, but she is my kid sister and I’ll always worry about her no matter where she goes, what she does or how old she gets.
Even if I have to foot the bill for a decent security monitoring system to be installed in her apartment, I will do all that I can do to try to protect her which then turns into trying to convince her. She can certainly be bull-headed but I’ve been dealing with her bull-headedness almost all my life with her so I can be pretty convincing at times.
This morning I drove my sister and her kids around town on errands. Seems she’s lost her driver’s license over something she says was just a forgotten obligation. She didn’t even know it was suspended until yesterday when she got pulled over for a broken headlight. So we will get it straight on Monday, but for now I’ll be happy to drive her to the store and wherever she needs. We talked about all these silly laws and problems and then realized that we are actually lucky to have a basically honest and diligent police force in America. In fact, we are lucky to have been born in America and have all the privileges of living in the greatest country in the world.
Our American Flag with Eagle
We travel about freely; we all have an opportunity for a free education and to work in a career that we choose. We enjoy a lot of freedoms and then we whine about getting a traffic ticket. My nephew pointed out the American flags at the airport, blowing in the wind as we drove by on our way to the warehouse club. I don’t think he realizes what a flag stands for yet, but I want him to learn the Star Spangled Banner so that next time I take him to a hockey game he can sing with us all. Learning to sing our national anthem is a great way to also learn about our flag.
