Just the thought that I could possibly be sleeping in a nice, soft, cool, comfy, good looking log bed sure puts a big old smile on my face. I have never bought raffle tickets for furniture before, much less a bed and a log bed at that! I have always dreamed of owning and sleeping in a log bed, with the thickest softest mattress on the market, so when a co worker came around asking if anyone wanted to buy any raffle tickets in hopes of winning a log bed, I just had to jump all over that. The tickets were totally affordable and the proceeds go to a great cause. Her daughter is a cheerleader and they are trying to raise money to go to the Nationals. I was a cheerleader back in high school so I have always had a lot of respect for cheerleaders.

Wouldn’t that be something if I actually won. I don’t usually have much luck with raffles but you can’t win if you don’t play and I was in the mood to play today.

Seems like the subject of Christmas keeps popping up here lately. I know that it is only the first week of August but in all reality the holiday madness is literally right around the corner. I’ve all ready figured out a few of the gifts for the people on my list and I’m about to start placing some online orders here in the next week or so on some things that are just too good to pass up, like the swisher sweet cigars that I know my step-father will just flip over. I might even get two boxes, one for him and the other for my Uncle Bernie, Dad’s brother. They both appreciate the taste of a good cigar and I love the smell of one as long as the windows are open.

I’ve always heard that sheepskin products were top notch, but seriously folks I’ve never really experienced the type of luxury that a nice set of sheepskin seat covers can give a person until I was given a set for Christmas by my step mother last Christmas. Now I an totally hooked and can’t wait to look into other sheepskin products such as some nice sheepskin rugs or maybe nice set of sheepskin moccasins that would keep my feet toasty warm while spoiling them in softness. Hey maybe that would be a great Christmas gift idea for next Christmas, I mean it is only 5 months away, sigh….

The canadian maple leaf gold coin that I ordered came in today and I am thrilled to now have what I think will be a wonderful birthday present for my kid brother. His birthday is August 7th, which will be here in no time flat and I’ve had a hard time this year finding the “perfect” gift for his 17th birthday. He is a bit too old for toys and I refuse to buy any type of video game stuff for any of the “kids” in the family. He does have pretty good gold coin collection that he has started to get back into recently. So I’m hoping this will be a good gift idea that he will appreciate and enjoy for as long as he deems fit.
