My older brothers and most of their friends were (and still are) muscle car freaks. There was always at least one car in the back drive way that was being worked on and/or restored and I learned a lot about cars by being surrounded by them growing up, if the car wasn’t from the 60′s or 70′s or earlier they just didn’t hold our interest even though there has been a few cool cars manufactured since then, not many but a few.
We have an annual fair and parade in our town each May and there is always a good amount of muscle cars, antique vehicles, fire engines, hot rods, motorcycles and the like cruising the town in anticipation of participating in the parade. This is a huge parade and people come from all over to watch and to participate in it each year. I enjoy watching the high school bands, the dancers, beauty pageant queens, the civic groups, celebrities and the local politicians that are in the parade, along with various other entries that entertain the large crowds. But my favorite is when the muscle cars start coming down the street and the Harley Davidson’s of course. They just get me going, big time!
It’s cool to see that some of the older model cars are starting to go back to some of the classic looks. The new Mustang the new Corvette and the new Camaro are starting to make more appearances around town now and then. Heads are turning to see how they look from behind and to how they sound. A guy that used to hang around my brothers just bought a new 2010 Camaro and is looking for Chevy Camaro accessories to start souping her up for his fall and winter project. By next May he may be ready to cruise along the parade route along with the newer good-looking cars.

While I was getting my car washed today I over heard a conversation about how using the car wash is not good for your paint job. The lady talking about this was upset that her car was coming up with lots of tiny scratches on it that were getting worse after each mechanical car wash. I’ve always heard that hand washing your car was better for the paint job and was glad to hear the car wash guy confirm it in is conversation with this very distraught lady customer.
I don’t think that I would do well as a car washer. People are totally insane about their vehicles and I can just imagine all the complaining and bullying that must go on at each and every car wash all across the country. Since the economy has been in such crisis getting my car washed isn’t something that I can afford every week like a lot of people still seem to be able to afford. But once in a while if I have a couple of extra bucks and find myself too busy or the weather too extreme to do the job myself paying someone to do the job is refreshing and if my car gets a few small scratches along the way I’m easy to deal with. It’s just a piece of transportation that needs to get me from point A to point B safe, sound and on time, as far as I’m concerned.

Today was a lesson about all the different types of lifts that are on today’s market, with a good amount of these lifts on the Internet for today’s online shoppers to look at. First let me explain that my brother-in-law is expecting his tax refund in the next couple of weeks. I have been helping them (my kid sis and her hubby) will the slow painful process of building a shop in their backyard that he can use to fix vehicles to help bring in some extra money. It has been an interesting experience from day one, I have learned so much this past year and it feels real good to drive up to their place and see that all that time and hard work actually paid off. It’s a good thing that we all get along so well together. There have been plenty of disagreements between us, but we have managed to work them all out and still give each other a hug at the end of the day.

High Lift Service / Parking Lift with Muscle Cars
Throughout all this time he has been telling me that he can’t wait to get an auto lift so that he can do so much more with that type of advantage. Of course he has promised to do a good amount of work on my car for all of my time and effort in getting him up and almost running. Yesterday I was over there and he was showing me all of the types of lifts and he keep referring to the one that he wanted as a parking lift, so I got a bit confused hence today’s lesson was that there is a difference between an auto lift and a parking lift. Now I understand that this much talked about parking lift is a car storage lift and well as a service lift which makes sense to me if you can kill two birds with one stone. That’s not so complicated to understand.

As most of you know, my brother-in-law was in a pretty serious car accident several years ago and has been suffering the worst back pain ever since. He no longer can hold a job, heck most days he can’t even get out of bed, the whole family has been devastated by the whole ordeal and it could take years before the lawyers and the court get the whole thing settled. What a legal mess this has turned out to be.
Right now he is looking forward to the discectomy that is scheduled for next week, after Thanksgiving is all over and done with. I am asking people all over to say a prayer for him. This is a pretty simple procedure, but you never know what is going to happen when you get doctors involved. I have never gone online and asked for prayers from complete strangers but this is important and I figured it could hurt!
