Allergy Grief

Tuesday, May 7th, 2013

I have the misfortune of suffering each year with allergies and it seems like this year my allergies have lasted weeks longer than usual. I’ve been sneezing and having sinus headaches ever since the temperatures hit 70 degrees. I’ve always been sensitive to tree pollen, but now I’m concerned that there are other things in the air that bother me, too. An air purifier might possibly help with my allergies and also help reduce the sensitivity to the other things that are giving me such grief.

Bean Bag Sofa Lounger Sits Three

Wednesday, May 1st, 2013

If you are interested in a cool seating alternative you might want to go online  at thesoothingcompany.com and look here for bean bag sofa lounger options that might surprise and/or impress you. I have always loved bean bag chairs and the like, but not all bean bag furniture is comfortable. I’ve seen tons of bean bag chairs and a few sofas and I know a good one when I see one. To find one that could possibly seat 3 is incredible.

The Soothing Company has a lot of cool products that I have enjoyed looking at and wanted to pass it along here for others who might be interested in fashion and comfort.

Rainy Nights

Tuesday, April 16th, 2013

It’s raining again tonight. It seems like we have had rain part of every day or every night for the past week. It’s depressing, but I tell myself that the ground needs the water. Some parts of the country have terrible problems with drought during the summer and I hope we never have to deal with that. The spring rains are our promise of plenty of water later this summer.

I have a girlfriend who moved out to Colorado with her husband and daughter about 10 years ago. She posts on Facebook quite a bit, and I remember her writing on Facebook about the wildfires that they had in Colorado last year. She is hoping that all the snow they had this year will head off the kind of drought they suffered last year, which contributed to the risk of fires breaking out all over the state.

Since I live a rural area with a lot of trees, I can understand the terror of dealing with all the trees around you possibly catching on fire. Not only do you risk having your house and everything in it destroyed by fire, but you have to deal with horrible smoke – making it hard to breathe and see. I really hope that I never have to deal with the threat of fire up here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I really don’t know what I would do or where I could go if I was told to evacuate my home and just take what I can carry with me.

So, I’ll deal with these rainy nights and will be glad to see the sun shine and better days.

Bedroom Furniture Los Angeles Style

Sunday, March 10th, 2013

The whole organic movement has finally hit me smack dab in the face and I find that I am totally impressed with all of today’s options to go and live as organic as you would pleased to do! One thing that I have been looking into in the bedroom furniture los angeles style that are, of all things, organic! Or at least the mattresses are. The Clean Bedroom’s website is fascinating and I’m grateful to the Internet for bringing stuff just like this to my attention. It would have taken decades for this type of information to get back to my neck of the woods and a drive out all the way to the west coast just isn’t in my budget, to find stuff like this.

I am starting to a lot of changes in the world’s attitude with all the organic issues, concerns and usages and I don’t want to be left behind. I have a few friends that have gone the organic route the past couple of years, and I have learned a good amount from them but it’s always good to be able to go online and find the facts and to be able to verify some of the things that I’m concerned and interested. Viva the Internet!

Domino’s Pizza

Monday, March 4th, 2013

I’m glad that the few top pizza companies in our area are having a pizza war. Calling the pizza man to deliver a pizza used to be a fast and affordable meal, but those days have long gone by the way side. Besides the cost of the pizza, there is a delivery charge, along with tax and of course you must tip the driver as well and I’d consider myself a good tipper. That all adds up, but if that what it takes to get a pizza delivered you do what you gotta do.

I have been a fan of Domino’s thin crust pizza most of my life. The more cheese and pepperoni that is piled on it the better. Since the prices are being cut, due to the competition I can afford to order it more often! I was listening to the radio the other afternoon and they were talking about how pizza deliveries are always on the rise when the lousy it wet and cold outside. I wonder why that is. Is it because we are so mean that we enjoy making a delivery person suffer in the nasty weather and then only give him the coins in change? I sure hope that isn’t the case. What a horrible thought.
