Verizon

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

I have had my cell phone, home phone and Internet with Verizon for many years. My contract is getting ready to expire and I have been receiving numerous phone calls from Verizon wanting me to sign a new contract, but I’m not ready to commit at this point. I want to look around at some of the other programs and options that I’m hearing so much about with other providers.

Plenty of Good Reading

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

I picked up several free books that are all Reader’s Digests they have become a very good source of reading lately, they are easily picked up for free or for next to nothing and they provide you with several stories in each edition that you get. I usually only see one or two of the stories that seem to interest me, but once I get to reading the first story, I usually keep on going to the next and at least give it a chance to see if I can deal with it or not, I can only remember one time putting the book down because I didn’t like a story in it.

Anyway the one I started this time has the following non fiction stories in it: They Long Gray Line, My Turn, A Place for Us and Funny Business, they all look interesting and this is one thick book that should keep my busy reading for a few weeks or so this time around.

The first of the month is here again

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

I’m afraid that the beginning of a new month only means that I have a ton of bills that need to be paid. Bill paying is something that I don’t enjoy one bit. I have though just recently turned to paying most of them on-line, which is saving me time and money in the long run, I was a bit nervious at first but every time I do it it gets easier and less nerve racking.

My sister is urging me to try and do my monthly bills through my bank that offers free on-line bill paying, but I keep putting that off. I seem to have everything under control the way that I am doing now and am not looking forward to having to input all of the information needed in order to go that route, maybe one day, but not any time soon.
