New Year’s Resolution

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

I have but one New Year’s resolution this year and that is to not use one single credit card, the whole year through. A few of my current cards have had the interest rate raised, due to no fault of my own and I just have to get them all paid down and off and start with a clean slate.

This is going to be a challenge, but I am very sincere about it. The economy is getting worse and I fear that the worst is yet to come and I want to be free and clear of all that I can.

Silent Night

Friday, December 26th, 2008

My all time favorite Christmas holiday song is Silent Night, this song never ceases to bring a lump into my throat and a tear to my eye. My least favorite is The 12 days of Christmas. it’s way too long and just gets on my last nerve, too much of a good thing type of deal.

I just recently ordered and watched on Pay Per View the movie Fred Claus, which was a blast, and at the end, while the credits were rolling they played some really cool Christmas songs, rap and hip hop style. I may need to purchase this movie on DVD just for the awesome music at the end. What ever works right.

Voice Mail Issues

Monday, December 15th, 2008

The last couple of weeks, my voice mail has gone crazy and is giving people that call me a very strange message that no one can figure out how it gone onto the darn thing. I finally found the paperwork, with the directions (it was in it’s file, of all places) on how to change the message and I spent a good amount of time figuring out how to use it and to make the message sound like a decent sounding message should. I always hate hearing my voice when I review the message, and find myself having to record it several times before dragging myself away from the phone and be content with what I had recorded.

This has never happened before and it has really been bugging me how this could have happened, a mystery for the Holiday Season, oh goodie!

Zicam, works for me

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

I am so glad that my sister recommended using Zicam Gel Swabs at the first sign of feeling like I’m getting sick, such as those nasty cold symptoms, stuffy nose, soar throat, sneezing, coughing & congestion. I have been using it faithfully for 3 years now and have handed out, I don’t know how many samples, for friends and family to try.

They are not cheap by any means but worth every penny if it keeps me from getting full blown sick, I can’t afford taking any time off of work because of cold symptoms. If I take off of work, I want it to be for something good, fun and/or positive.

Bone Density Issues

Friday, December 5th, 2008

My mother just emailed me with some bothersome news. She went for her yearly check up and one of the things they did was a bone density test on her and she tells me that now she has been informed that she needs to start calcium pills and that they are thinking of also putting her on a prescription such as Fosomax or Boniva in order to start building her fragile bones back and keep the Osteoporosis issue at bay. I’m glad that they caught this thing early on, she should be able to reverse the situation if she does what she is told to do, and I aim to keep on her about this when I communicate with her each time.

It seems that this health issue is heredity, so I need to start planning ahead and make sure that I can absorb as much calcium as I can, it is never too late, although I am told that your body stops building your bone mass at the age of 21 and it is all down hill from there – unless you put the correct amount of calcium into your daily diet all of your life. I am built just like my mother, small framed and both of us are smokers, this puts us at serious risk for Osteoporosis.

Looks like I’ve got some work to do and I mean to do it!
