Swiss Miss

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

I do love my hot chocolate during the freezing cold winter months and I’m glad that Swiss Miss decided to come out with a wonderful new flavor this year. Their Mocha Cappuccino Hot Cocoa Mix is truly heavenly, and I hope that your local grocery store carries this delicious new exciting flavor. They have matched the flavors perfectly, blended just the way so that each one doesn’t overwhelm the other, so to speak.

I gave up purchasing the type with the mini marshmallows already included, they are way too small and melt away before you even get a chance to let the darn thing cool off enough to take the first sip. So I always make sure that I have a bad of mini marshmallows on hand come winter.

As with all hot drink mixes that you only have to add water to, I only use 2/3 of the hot water recommended and top it off with milk, it makes it creamier and helps cool it off a bit so that you can get right down to the drinking of.

Christmas Toys

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

Each year we get to see on numerous television shows during the holiday season, all the newly released and exciting toys that are expected to be the big top sellers for the up and coming Holiday shopping season.

Amazing how every year Elmo seems to be a hit, time after time, it never fails to see him upgraded somehow to keep him on top. Elmo is cool, he was my favorite of the Sesame Street characters, back in my day and the Cookie Monster was always good for a laugh!

The Wonder of Junk Drawers

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

I just couldn’t take it anymore, my kitchen junk drawer runneth over and it will not even close properly anymore, so I pulled up my sleeves and dove in with both hands.

Amazing the things that one finds in these types of drawers, located through-out the house, a good amount found it’s way to the trash can, but I did find some goodies that have been long gone and forgotten.

My one treasurer is a plug in timer that I can plug my T.V. in at night that will automatically shut it off, hopefully well after I have fallen asleep. I will experiment with it tonight and see how it all works out. Anything that will help reduce my electric bill these days is worth giving a shot.

After finding numerous useful things that had been stashed away for so long makes me wonder what I will find when I finally clean out the closets!

Old Man Winter

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

It appears that Old Man Winter has made his presence known these past couple of days. I had to find the box that holds all of my mittens, gloves, scarfs and hats that were put under my bed at the end of last year’s mild winter weather. I hate that box, I hate winter, but I have plenty of firewood and hot chocolate and a box of good books ready for reading.

Close Votes

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Well, the main guy that I voted for didn’t win. It seems like that happens every time I go to vote. Guess I’m no good at picking a good man. I have some ex’s in my baggage to prove that. Still, I wish McCain had won – I think he was a better man as far as experience and ability to handle leading our Country. But we’ll give Obama a chance and maybe he will surprise a lot of us with how well he can do. He has a lot of important challenges facing already.
