Flea Market

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Although the weatherman was calling for rain all day yesterday, we never saw any, not one drop. So I decided to take a trip to the flea market and walk around and see what good deals I could find on any treasures. Not many vendors had showed up due to the weather forecast so it was kind of empty. I didn’t find anything, but the fresh air and the exercise did me good.

Learning A Bit More About Online Slots

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

I don’t live any where close to any place that offers any type of gambling. I would have to drive a pretty good distance to get to any place like that, which is a bummer. Years back my parents took us all to Las Vegas, what a trip that was. I was too young to really appreciate all that Vegas has to offer adults, although we did enjoy seeing several shows that will always stay in my mind for as long as I live I can guarantee you that.

Not that I’m that much into risking my hard earned money, heck I don’t even buy Lottery tickets, unless I buy them and use them as a gift to some one who I have no idea what else to buy them. In my opinion they are more fun than a gift card for some place that a person might not even use, that would really bite. Talk about a waste!

I have a few friends, or I should say co workers that go online a play some casino games slot machines at times. In the break room some times that is the major topic of conversation and I sit there like a bump on a log with nothing to contribute to the conversation. So I decided to look around and learn just a bit in order to be able to know what the heck they are talking about and to be able to join in the conversation at some point.

I found a cool site that is a rating guide to the best online gaming sites at ghidpc.com. Took a few minutes and looked around, it’s a pretty user friendly site and very flashy I can tell you that, but I guess it goes with the atmosphere of the games. If you are into online gaming I’d tell you to check them out and see if there is anything that floats your boat there.

The Rising Need for A Good Burglar Alarm

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Times couldn’t be much more desperate than what our economy issues have reduced us to. Drug and alcohol abuse is on the rise and burglaries are happening like crazy, big time. We are seeing more and more of the ADT Home Security Systems yard signs are popping up all over all of the neighborhoods. ADT has been in the security business for over 130 years so they must be doing something right, right?

They (ADT) have a good website at www.homesecurityteam.com which is full of useful tips, offers, packages, contact information, installation issues and all the other information that a good quality web site that is user friendly has to offer. Burglar Alarms are getting to be a necessity and are becoming more affordable so this is a great site to check out.
The days of having a weapon and/or a big dog or two have gone past us. A good security system with video cameras are the way to go these days. I’ve never experienced a home break-in, but I do know some folks that have experienced it and there stories are hard to listen to. I just can’t imagine going through such a thing. I can see where they would always feel violated and tarnished in so many ways. I definitely would be sleeping with a big gun under pillow if that ever happened. I do have a few weapons but they are tucked away safe and secure, all legal like and I go to the shooting range every so often and am a pretty decent shot. I wouldn’t want to have to ever use one on somebody though.

Recycle Those Paper Version Phone Books

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

I’m tossing out (actually I’m recycling) my local phone books. There are so darn many of them and they just take up a lot of room and don’t get used, as long as I have access to the Internet that is.  When I need to find or get information about some one or some place I get it quickly while I’m online. I can’t even remember the last time I looked anything up in any of the paper version phone books. So out the door they go and a good riddance.

Like earlier today I spent some time online looking for a decent San Francisco auto repair center. I went to repairpal.com and found several that seemed to match my needs. My honda accord which is my only means of transportation is in need of a new timing belt and I don’t want to use any of my charge cards that I have in my wallet for several well known auto service centers. I’m determined not to use any of my credit cards, it’s a challenge but it’s working for me.

Domino’s Pizza

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

I’m glad that the few top pizza companies in our area are currently having a pizza war. Calling the pizza man to deliver a pizza used to be a fast and affordable meal, but those days have long gone by the way side. Besides the cost of the pizza, there is a delivery charge, along with tax and of course you must tip the driver as well and I’d consider myself a good tipper. That all adds up, but if that what it takes to get a pizza delivered you do what you gotta do.

I have been a fan of Domino’s thin crust pizza most of my life. The more cheese and pepperoni that is piled on it the better.  Since the prices are being cut, due to the competition I can afford to order it more often!
