The Rising Need for A Good Burglar Alarm

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Times couldn’t be much more desperate than what our economy issues have reduced us to. Drug and alcohol abuse is on the rise and burglaries are happening like crazy, big time. We are seeing more and more of the ADT Home Security Systems yard signs are popping up all over all of the neighborhoods. ADT has been in the security business for over 130 years so they must be doing something right, right?

They (ADT) have a good website at www.homesecurityteam.com which is full of useful tips, offers, packages, contact information, installation issues and all the other information that a good quality web site that is user friendly has to offer. Burglar Alarms are getting to be a necessity and are becoming more affordable so this is a great site to check out.
The days of having a weapon and/or a big dog or two have gone past us. A good security system with video cameras are the way to go these days. I’ve never experienced a home break-in, but I do know some folks that have experienced it and there stories are hard to listen to. I just can’t imagine going through such a thing. I can see where they would always feel violated and tarnished in so many ways. I definitely would be sleeping with a big gun under pillow if that ever happened. I do have a few weapons but they are tucked away safe and secure, all legal like and I go to the shooting range every so often and am a pretty decent shot. I wouldn’t want to have to ever use one on somebody though.

Make-Over Issues

Friday, July 30th, 2010

I have the best relationship with my 12 year old niece Brandy. Not only am I her aunt but I’m her god mother as well and I’m loving every minute of since and have been since the day that she was born. Not only is she a great kid, but a good person and a model student in the elementary school that she just graduated from. I can’t believe that she is starting middle school in just over a month.

She spends a good amount of time over at my place so we have decided that she can go ahead and make one of my spare bedrooms her room away from home. She has taken over the challenge of finding the items that she wants and needs to make it her own style and her own private space. She is good on the computer and knows how to research things in order to find what she wants at a good price.

Right now she has her eyes on a nice chenille bedspread that she found using the site of become.com, which is a great product review and price comparison site for all types of products. She is looking for new bed linens and some accent pillows and possibly a cute looking throw rug to go along with the whole scheme of things. I’m sure she will come up with something fabulous, of course everything needs to be approved of by me in the end, but I’m confident enough in her taste and talents to think that this will work out just fine and dandy with us both.

Holiday Table Talk about Identity Theft

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

Such interesting (and some not too interesting) stories are told around the holiday’s dinner table each and every year. There are some stories that will be told over and over each year as well as the new ones that are being formed as we speak.

I’m the type of person that is happy sitting just about anywhere, beside anybody, heck I don’t even mind having to sit at the “kids” table. I always have a blast with the kids and at times enjoy what they are talking about more than the adults are gabbing on and on about! Some years I eat the meal with the big kids and then spend time eating desert with the younger ones of the family, it works out well.

This year I spent the whole meal at the “kids” table. It was a lot of fun, I got to spend time with my nieces and nephews that I normally don’t have a lot of time to do through out the year. Besides all my parents wanted to discuss that night was all the home improvement stories that they have been saving for the Christmas dinner. They have been busy bees around the place and were just bursting to gab about it all. Kinda cute actually, it’s cool to see them that jazzed up about something for a change.

They have been looking for some time at the different Mailboxes that are on the market these days. They had to make sure that their mailbox had their street number on it and came with a good durable lock to keep their mail safe. The neighborhood has been going down hill a bit lately and they have had to deal with mail boxes being vandalized and mail being stolen. Not good, ya know. So they have been doing their home work and utilizing the Internet to their best ability, to learn all they could about Residential Mailboxes and where to get the best product for a good price. My dad was even willing to purchase one of the Commercial Mailboxes if he had to in order to keep their mail safe. They are taking this very seriously and I am proud of them for it. Identity theft is a major issue with our senior citizens, we don’t even want to end up going there.

Towers on The Grove, Myrtle Beach

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

O.K. the Christmas rush is totally on. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I’ve finally finishing all my shopping and preparations that have needed all of my attention this last week or so. The 21 inches of snow that we got over the weekend made it a challenge for most us to get everything done. The roads are a nightmare, the malls are packed and I’m so done with Christmas shopping at this point.

I’m off work tomorrow, so I’ll be spending the day getting the very last minute odds and ends done and then I’m going to spend the rest of the day on my laptop. I’m still digging around for the best Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resort that I want to spend time at this up and coming summer with a few friends. I had no idea that there were so many Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resorts to choose from, but it has been interesting, to say the least.

I’ve had a few folks recommend some of their favorite Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotels, but just can’t make a commitment right now. I really want to have somethings lined up before I see these friends again, which will be right after Christmas. I’d like to have at least one or two of the better Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotel information readily available to present to them, so it’s a good thing I have the day off tomorrow.

I’ll keep you posted and wish you and yours a very Happy Holiday!

I Love My Direct TV

Monday, December 14th, 2009

I’ve had Direct TV ever since I moved out from under my parents roof, many years back. I’ve always been happy with what they have to offer me and the customer service that they always provide me with. It has always worked out well when I have had to move, it’s never been a hassle getting my service transferred to the new places that I’ve found myself at. I can’t imagine ever leaving Direct Satellite TV
they have become a way of life with me.

My parents even subscribe to Direct TV in California. When they moved out there they called Direct TV and gave them my account number when they signed up with them and we both received a $100 referral fee, which worked out real nice since it was right before the holidays and the $100 came in handy to buy some Christmas gifts that needed to be purchased for my niece and nephew back then.

I like that I can pay my monthly bill online on their website. It’s nice and easy and I don’t have to worry about writing a check or paying for any stamps. It’s all good with Direct TV! If you are looking for a good satellite provider I would recommend them in a heart beat.
