Flea Market

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Although the weatherman was calling for rain all day yesterday, we never saw any, not one drop. So I decided to take a trip to the flea market and walk around and see what good deals I could find on any treasures. Not many vendors had showed up due to the weather forecast so it was kind of empty. I didn’t find anything, but the fresh air and the exercise did me good.

Learning A Bit More About Online Slots

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

I don’t live any where close to any place that offers any type of gambling. I would have to drive a pretty good distance to get to any place like that, which is a bummer. Years back my parents took us all to Las Vegas, what a trip that was. I was too young to really appreciate all that Vegas has to offer adults, although we did enjoy seeing several shows that will always stay in my mind for as long as I live I can guarantee you that.

Not that I’m that much into risking my hard earned money, heck I don’t even buy Lottery tickets, unless I buy them and use them as a gift to some one who I have no idea what else to buy them. In my opinion they are more fun than a gift card for some place that a person might not even use, that would really bite. Talk about a waste!

I have a few friends, or I should say co workers that go online a play some casino games slot machines at times. In the break room some times that is the major topic of conversation and I sit there like a bump on a log with nothing to contribute to the conversation. So I decided to look around and learn just a bit in order to be able to know what the heck they are talking about and to be able to join in the conversation at some point.

I found a cool site that is a rating guide to the best online gaming sites at ghidpc.com. Took a few minutes and looked around, it’s a pretty user friendly site and very flashy I can tell you that, but I guess it goes with the atmosphere of the games. If you are into online gaming I’d tell you to check them out and see if there is anything that floats your boat there.

The Muscle Car

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

My older brothers and most of their friends were (and still are) muscle car freaks. There was always at least one car in the back drive way that was being worked on and/or restored and I learned a lot about cars by being surrounded by them growing up. If the car wasn’t from the 60′s or 70′s or earlier they just didn’t hold our interest even though there has been a few cool cars manufactured since then, not many but a few.

We have an annual fair and parade in our town each May and there is always a good amount of muscle cars, antique vehicles, fire engines, hot rods, motorcycles and the like cruising the town in anticipation of participating in the parade. This is a huge parade and people come from all over to watch and to participate in it each year. I enjoy watching the high school bands, the dancers, beauty pageant queens, the civic groups, celebrities and the local politicians that are in the parade, along with various other entries that entertain the large crowds.  But my favorite is when the muscle cars start coming down the street and the Harley Davidsons of course. They just get me going, big time!

It’s cool to see that some of the older model cars are starting to go back to some of the classic looks. The new Mustang the new Corvette and the new Camaro are starting to make more appearances around town now and then. Heads are turning to see how they look from behind and to how they sound. A guy that used to hang around my brothers just bought a new 2010 camaro and is looking for chevy camaro accessories to start souping her up for his fall and winter project.  By next May he may be ready to cruise along the parade route along with the newer good looking cars.

Let The Count Down Begin

In no time it will be football season. Of all of the sports that we have available to us these days, football still has my vote. I have no patience for watching a baseball game or a golf game, especially on TV for goodness sake. Nothing could be a boring as that in my book. I’ve been to a couple of live professional baseball games, if it wasn’t for the beer and the music I wouldn’t have lasted the whole game!

Anyway, this year I have subscribed to the sunday ticket with my current satellite provider. I look forward to having several parties celebrating the football season this year. I’ll start stocking up on beer that I find on sale in the next couple of months and hit the ABC store regurarly for their sales that never seem to come often enought and I should be good to go by the time the first kick-off takes place.

If there are any games that I don’t get I’m sure that I can go over to my BFF’s place and watch her Time Warner sports channels and another good friend subscribes to the well known Cox sports package that is under contract with. So I pretty much have it covered and am just counting down the months, which will be turning into weeks in no time until the fun starts taking place, live and on TV.

Golf Myrtle Beach Style

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Not that I have a whole lot of extra time on my hands right now, I mean Christmas is now only one week away and there is still plenty to do in order to get ready for everything that needs to get done for that. But I have to tell you, I just can’t seem to get Myrtle Beach out of my head, so I’ve been talking with a few friends who I think might want to go with me this summer and I’ve several ideas and suggestions that have got me really excited about the whole deal.

It’s been suggested that I check into some of the Myrtle Beach Golf Packages that are available, which is cool with me. I enjoy a good game of golf now and then. I had no idea that there were so many nice Myrtle Beach Golf Vacations, so I’ve spent some time looking into them. Myrtle Beach Golf is apparently pretty popular and they attract some pretty well known golfers. Arnold Palmer created a nice course there, King’s North, which is supposed to be one of the most exciting and challenging courses in America. Now how cool is that?

So now that I’ve heard so much about Golf Myrtle Beach style I have my work cut out for me. Thank God for the Internet, it will allow me to plan this adventure a bit easier. I can book our tee times and the lodging accommodations online and hopefully get some good deals that way.
