Scrubs Setting a Trend?

Lately I’ve been spending a lot of time in the area near our big regional hospital, so I thought that all the people walking around in nursing scrubs were probably normal. I figured they probably work at the hospital or for a doctor’s office and they just decided to wear scrubs out on the street when they take their lunch break or maybe o to the bank or some other little errands that happen to be near where they work. After all, why change out of scrubs to jeans and tee-shirt? Scrubs are a nice choice of casual wear and changing into street clothes for your lunch break and then changing back into scrubs seems like a complete waste of time.

But now I am seeing scrubs in other parts of town and I am starting to wonder if all these people really do work at the hospital or for a doctor’s office? Or maybe they just like to buy scrubs from a place like blueskyscrubs.com and they just wear scrubs as their personal choice for casual wear? Does anyone know if wearing scrubs is becoming a new trend? I would be more than happy to start wearing those comfortable drawstring pants and cute smock tops while I run my own errands. But I don’t want people to think I work at the hospital!
