I’ve always loved to draw and paint – I remember coloring on my grandmother’s front porch as young as four years old. My mother would keep me occupied for hours with a new coloring box and a box of crayons. As I got older she would sometimes buy a paint by number kit and I would spend hours working on those, too.
When I wanted to learn how to draw the figures on my own, she got me some of the Dover children’s books. They had step by step instructions on how to create line drawings of animals, flowers and toys. I loved those books but haven’t seen any of them for YEARS! So I was very surprised when I went into the local Borders Books and happened to be browsing around the back of the book store when I came across an entire rack of Dover Chidlren’s Books! It was such a surprise and a very nice discovery to find that they are still in print and being sold in stores.

It’s so good to get a hand written thank you card in the mail these days, it just makes me think that they are cool enough to take the time and effort to write the card, address the card, put a stamp on it and then get it to a mailbox. When these days in just a matter of minutes you can shoot someone a thank you and or a card with all of today’s technology communication options.
The reason I bring this up is that in today’s mail there was a thank you card from my 19 year old nephew for the m-audio synthesizers Musicians friend that we, the aunts and uncles, all pitched in a bought for him as his High School Graduation gift. He is a good kid and he deserves a decent synthesizer, and so much more, but that’s another story.

Just got off the phone with my newest friends, the charming couple I’d met at TGIF Fridays awhile back. They wanted to know if I’d join them for lunch this Wednesday and maybe just hangout for a bit afterwards. I accepted of course, because although I haven’t known them very long, I really like them both and they are a lot of fun. I checked my calendar to make sure I didn’t have anything planned and luckily I didn’t. After I’d hung up the phone my new favorite song kept running through my head over and over again. I can’t help smiling about it either. Now I really can’t wait for next Wednesday, maybe I’ll get real lucky in the “fun” department long before the weekend!

After much prodding I have decided to seriously switch to a different phone service that we are hearing so much about. I’m glad that the price of having a residential phone line is coming down but vontage phone service has the best so far and I need to find ways to stretch my extremely condensed monthly budget. I’ll let you know what I decide on and what all I find out through more research later this week.

Today Paul McCartney turned 70 years old and only a few months ago the only other surviving Beatle, Ringo Starr celebrated his 72nd birthday. Crazy isn’t it, who would have ever thought considered any of those guys in their 70′s. I think I’ll see if I can find the old Beatle movie “A Hard Day’s Night” on Netflex, or even the other hit movie back then “Help” both would be good give another watching soon.
